Ahly winger Ramadan Sobhi resumed full training with the team Wednesday after recovering from muscular injury, according to the club's official website.

The 23-year-old winger has been sidelined for almost 40 days after sustaining a hamstring tear in a training session.

Ahly football director Sayed Abdel-Hafiz said Tuesday that a final determination on the winger has not yet been made.

"Sobhi is getting better. He participated in a part of Monday's training session and he will be reevaluated to take a final decision regarding his participation against Al-Hilal," explained Abdel-Hafiz.

Sobhi, who is loaned to Ahly from the English side Huddersfield until the end of the season, has appeared with the Cairo giants in nine games in the current season across all competitions, scoring five goals and creating one.

The Cairo giants boosted their hopes of reaching the last eight of the Champions League after beating Tunisia's Etoile Sahel 1-0 in the 5th round of Group B games late Sunday.

Ahly are at the top of a tight Group B with 10 points, one ahead of Etoile and Sudanese giants Al-Hilal, with one match remaining in the group phase.

Ahly only need to draw at Al-Hilal's Omdurman fortress in their final match next week to qualify for the quarter-finals.

A win will see them advance as the group leaders regardless of the outcome of the other match between Etoile and Zimbabwe's Platinum.
