Egypt's remittances from workers abroad rose 12.7 percent year-on-year in October 2019 to around $2.3 billion, the Central Bank of Egypt said in a statement on Wednesday.
The remittances, a key source of hard currency, rose 13.4 percent to $9 billion during the first four months of the 2019/2020 fiscal year (July-October 2019), compared with $8 billion during the same period the previous year.
