The organisers of the Visions: Cairo Egyptian Short Film Festival announced that the event's third edition will take place between 11 and 19 March.
Brainchild of the American University in Cairo's Cinema Department, the festival sheds light on short films created by young filmmakers, including its own students as well as young people from across Egypt.
The festival aims to provide an opportunity for emerging Egyptian filmmakers to display their films within the highly artistic setting.
Festival organisers said the event works on developing audience and creating interest in the works of young and budding filmmakers.
Numerous media personalities, film critics and people from the film industry are invited to the screenings, hoping to open up opportunities and provide exposure.
