Egyptian giants Zamalek and Ahly will be boosted by the presence of 30,000 supporters for each team in their upcoming African Champions League matches against Tunisia's Esperance and South Africa's Mamelodi Sundowns respectively.

The Whites are set to host the Tunisian side on Friday in the first leg of the prestigious tournament quarter finals, while the Reds will be hosting Sundowns one day later in the same round.

Ahly and Zamalek asked to play the matches at Cairo Stadium amid fans' attendance; a request that was approved by security authorities, according to the managements of both clubs.

"Zamalek will be boosted by the attendance of 30,000 supporters against Esperance at Cairo International Stadium," club president Mortada Mansour announced late on Sunday.

Confederation Cup holders Zamalek just defeated Champions League champions Esperance 3-1 on Friday to win the African Super Cup title.

On the other side, Ahly's executive manager Mohamed Morgan said that the club received the approval to play at Cairo stadium with the presence of 30,000 supporters after intensive calls to move the game from home the arena Al-Salam Stadium.

The eight-time African Champions Ahly clinched their last Champions League title in 2013, while five-time winners Zamalek last won the competition in 2002.
