Three Egyptian films in the line-up of Red Sea Shorts competition

Inaugural Red Sea International Film Festival (12 - 21 March 2020) has revealed the films to be screened in the Red Sea Shorts competition.

Three films from Egypt made it to the list: Sunday at Five, directed by Sherif El Bendary; The Other Cheek by Sandro Canaan and Ward’s Henna Party by Morad Mostafa.

A total of 13 films, all from the Arab world, will compete for the award.

The Red Sea International Film Festival announced Tim Redford as President of the jury for the inaugural Red Sea Shorts competition.

Tunisian actress Najla Ben Abdallah, Saudi screenwriter and cinema pioneer Ahmad Almulla will also be on the jury panel.

The festival is organised by the Red Sea Film Festival Foundation, the first Saudi independent non-profit organisation with an official mandate to promote film culture.
