The Kuwaiti Embassy in Cairo called upon its citizens in Egypt to contact it to facilitate their return to Kuwait in a quick and organised fashion, the Kuwaiti Foreign Ministry said in a statement on Saturday.

The statement added that the emergency numbers of the Kuwaiti Embassy in Cairo are 002 012 1044 4448 and 002 012 1044 4449.

Earlier on Saturday, Kuwait’s civil aviation directorate tweeted the Gulf country has suspended flights to and from seven countries: Egypt, Bangladesh, the Philippines, India, Sri Lanka, Syria and Lebanon, for a week to "stem the spread of COVID-19 and protect public health."

Kuwait said it will bar entry to Kuwait of nationals who had been in any of the seven countries in the past two weeks even if they hold valid residencies or visas.

Only Kuwaiti nationals living in the specified countries will be allowed entry after undergoing quarantine measures, the circular by the Kuwaiti civil aviation directorate read.
