Egypt's Sisi sends messages on GERD to Algerian, Moroccan, Tunisian counterparts

A delegation from the Egyptian foreign ministry led by Assistant Foreign Minister for Arab Affairs Yasser Othman paid visits to Algeria, Tunisia and Mauritania.

During their meetings with the foreign ministers of the three North African countries, the delegation members handed them messages by President Abdel-Fattah El-Sisi on the Grand Ethiopian Renaissance Dam (GERD) issue for delivery to his counterparts in the three countries, a statement by the foreign ministry said on Sunday.

The messages outlined Egypt's position on Ethiopia's giant hydro-power project.

Accompanied by Deputy Assistant Foreign Minister for Nile Water Affairs Yasser Sorour, the delegation discussed means of promoting ties with the three Arab nations and consulted over several regional and international issues of mutual concern.
