Egypt's Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly
Egypt's Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly said on Monday that the Egyptian government is in the process of issuing a decision within hours to reduce the number of public servants at their workplaces as a precautionary measure to prevent the spread of the coronavirus.
Madbouly also revealed a number of precautionary measures taken by the Egyptian government to stem the spread of the virus, including the suspension of international flights to and from the country from 19 till 31 March.
With the rise in the number of cases, Egypt decided on Saturday to close schools and universities for two weeks to prevent the spread of the virus.
Since it emerged in the central Chinese city of Wuhan late last year, coronavirus (COVID-19) has infected more than 170,000 people globally and killed more than 6,500.
