A coronavirus pandemic would not cripple printing of newspapers and magazines, the chairman of Egypt’s Al-Ahram Establishment said.
Abdel Mohsen Salama, chairman of Al-Ahram, said that publishing institutions are among sectors seeing the most harm due to coronavirus.
He said the National Press Authority held a meeting to discuss preventive measures applied to combat corona and means to implement a governmental decision to lower number of state workers.
He said Al-Ahram suffered estimated losses of tens of millions of pounds due to the cancellation of several exhibitions both home and abroad.
Meanwhile, the NPA said all female employees, including journalists, would be given a vacation until the end of the two week suspension of schools.
It would also lower workforce in all of institutions managements, to not affect day to day operations.
A medical team would be available in all institutions to fight the outbreak of the pandemic.
