Egypt's President Abdel-Fattah El-Sisi tweeted his wishes of recovery for British Prime Minister Boris Johnson, who was moved to the intensive care unit of a London hospital after his coronavirus symptoms worsened on Monday.
"Egypt appreciates Johnson's role in strongly leading his country to battle the coronavirus," the Egyptian president said, affirming his support for the United Kingdom's efforts in this regard.
The Egyptian president affirmed Egypt’s solidarity with all international efforts against the coronavirus pandemic, which has united humanity around one goal and given a lesson in the importance of solidarity among the people of the world.
Britain's Foreign Secretary Dominic Raab will run the country while Prime Minister Johnson is in intensive care, Cabinet Office minister Michael Gove said on Tuesday.
So far, the UK has recorded 51,608 coronavirus cases and 5,373 fatalities.
