There are few hours left before the beginning of the holy month of Ramadan, a time of joyful and spiritual feelings that everyone is waiting for. Yet, Ramadan is likely to be different this year, as the coronavirus epidemic is causing many people to be locked up inside their homes. Now is the time to make some changes to your house in order to spread positive energy and keep the Ramadan spirit alive.
Get into the Ramadan spirit by cleaning your house thoroughly and decorating it with Ramadan signs. Then think about these tips and ideas for Ramadan home decorations.
The living room
The living room: This is where the family spends most of the time, and it’s one of the main places you can decorate to feel the Ramadan sprit. Spread different-sized Ramadan lanterns everywhere, or put a large lantern at the entrance of the room. Cover your cushions with beautiful Ramadan-style cushion covers with images of the crescent moon and Ramadan lanterns. Use blue or red khayameya material to cover the back of your sofa. You can also decorate your centre table with a colourful Ramadan-designed tablecloth.
The dining room
The dining room: One of the most distinctive traditions in Ramadan is the gatherings that are held for the Ramadan meals of iftar and sohour. Decorating your dining room will add to the experience for you and your loved ones. Cover the dining-room table with a stylish Ramadan tablecloth or khayameya. Spread some stylish lanterns around. You can also hang decorations on the walls like Ramadan ornaments. Use customised Ramadan plates and napkins for iftar decorations.
The children’s rooms
The children’s rooms: Your children will be excited and will love making Ramadan decorations by themselves. You can also put small Ramadan lanterns on their shelves or study tables. Hang a string of Ramadan crescent moons and stars on the walls or the back of beds. Hang Ramadan banners on cupboards. Make a mosque corner in their rooms so the children can be excited about praying and decorate it with Ramadan Kareem paper strings.
The kitchen
The kitchen: The kitchen is where the magic of Ramadan is brewed. Use crescent-shaped cutters for dough to make tasty Ramadan-shaped baked food. You can also use dishes with Ramadan designs on them to cheer up your family. Also think about using Ramadan refrigerator magnets to brighten up your fridge and put you in a better mood to cook more delicious food.
