Egypt’s President Abdel-Fattah El-Sisi exchanged seasonal greetings on Thursday with the leaders of a number of Arab countries ahead of the Islamic holy month of Ramadan.

El-Sisi exchanged greetings with Tunisian President Kais Saied, the Sudanese Transitional Military Council Chairman Abdel Fattah El-Burhan, Iraqi President Barham Salih, King Abdullah of Jordan and King Salman of Saudi Arabia.

The president congratulated the other leaders on the occasion of the holy month of Ramadan, and wished their countries prosperity, progress and stability.

Ramadan will start in Egypt on Friday.

Observant Muslims are required to fast from dawn to dusk during the holy month.

A number of normal Ramadan practices, including communal mosque prayers, will not take place this year due to the coronavirus. Egyptian authorities have also instituted a nationwide curfew, which will begin at 9pm during the holy month.
