Egypt's health ministry has reported 215 new coronavirus cases on Sunday, bringing the country’s total to 4,534.
Two foreigners are among the new cases, the ministry said, without giving more details.
Ten new fatalities were recorded on Sunday, bringing the country’s death toll from COVID-19 to 317.
The ministry statement added that 62 Egyptians had fully recovered and left isolation hospitals on Saturday, which brings the total number of recoveries so far to 1,176.
The number of cases who have rested negative, including the recoveries, has now reached 1,502.
Health Minister Hala Zayed said in a video statement on Sunday that 506 people with mild cases of the virus have fully recovered and been discharged from the hotels and hostels that have been hosting quarantined patients since early April.
According to Zayed, 1,237 cases were transferred to those hotels and hostels and thus 40 percent of them have now recovered and been discharged.
