Egypt detects 226 new coronavirus cases, 21 fatalities

Egypt detected 226 new coronavirus cases in the country on Wednesday, according to the health ministry.

Total infections in Egypt have risen to 5,268 since the COVID-19 virus outbreak.

Twenty-one fatalities were reported on Wednesday, bringing the total death toll to 380, according to the ministry's statement.

The statement also revealed that 31 patients had been discharged from quarantine hospitals upon recovering, bringing the total number of recoveries to 1,335.

The number of patients whose PCR results changed from positive to negative increased to 1,712.
