Croatia's soccer season will resume with cup ties on May 30 followed by league action on June 6 pending government approval, its football association (HNS) said on Wednesday, more than two months after competition was halted by a coronavirus lockdown.

"In accordance with the situation related to the pandemic, the national civil protection authorities will have the final say," the HNS said on the body's website (hns-cff.hr).

"If the motion is approved, the season will resume with semi-final cup ties on May 30 and 31 followed by matches in the country's first division on June 6. All games will be played without spectators."

The soccer governing body added that the second and third divisions would not resume this season.

Champions Dinamo Zagreb, who have won 13 of the last 14 league titles, are top of the first division on 65 points from 26 games, 18 more than second-placed Rijeka with 10 rounds of matches remaining.

Cup holders Rijeka, who briefly halted Dinamo's league dominance when they won the 2017 title, meet Osijek while Slaven Koprivnica take on Lokomotiva Zagreb in the other semi-final.
