Cairo Opera House resumes activities in open-air theatres

The Cairo Opera House has prepared a rich programme for the upcoming weeks. Tickets are available online

The Cairo Opera House's online ticketing platform is ready for audiences wishing to attend the Opera's events, Magdy Saber, chairman of the Cairo Opera House, said.

The Opera is finally resuming its activities after a few months closure owing to the spread of the coronavirus pandemic. 

 In the first phase, events will be held at the open air theatres located on the Opera's grounds.

The two other phases include the theatres in front of theHanager Arts Centre and the Nafoura Theatre. 

Among the first music performances prepared by the Opera is the Arabic music concert to take place on 9 July at the Nafoura Theatre, featuring stars of Arabic singing.

Other events in the repertoire include concerts by pianist Omar Khairat, singers Ali El-Haggar, Wael El-Fashni and Medhat Saleh, jazz musician Yehya Khalil, Marimba player Nesma Abdel-Aziz, El-Nafikha band, Massar Egbari band, Boghdadi Band, Nesma Mahgoub, Nouran Abutaleb, among many others. 

The culture ministry's press release revealed that the reopening of theatres and return to music activities applies to the Sayed Darwish theatre located in Alexandria and operating under the Cairo Opera House.
