Egyptian pop star Mostafa Amar is scheduled to hold a concert in his hometown Alexandria on Saturday, the day marking the conclusion of the Bibliotheca Alexandrina Art Centre's 18th International Summer Festival.
The festival's two-week, rich programme will close with Amar singing an amalgam of his new hits and songs his fans memorise from the 1990s.
The festival, dedicated to late Egyptian folk-dance icon Mahmoud Reda, saw a variety of art forms that included plays, film screenings, music performances from different genres in addition to workshops and master-classes.
Amar, who released a religious album in May amid the Islamic season of the holy month of Ramadan, is gearing up for his summer release Leman Yahemoho El-Amr ("To Whom it may Concern").
Cultural events and activities in Egypt were resumed last month as part of phase one of the country's reopening after the COVID-19 shutdown. All events are being held under strict measures that include social distancing, obligatory masks, and sanitisation.
