Ethiopia's new ambassador to Egypt submits copy of his credentials to foreign ministry

New Ethiopian ambassador to Egypt Markos Tekle submitted on Thursday a copy of his credentials to Assistant Foreign Minister for African Affairs Ambassador Abu Bakr Hefny; to officially start his term. 

During the meeting, the Ethiopian ambassador told the assistant foreign minister that he will seek during his tenure to boost strong relations between the two countries at the different social, political and economic levels.

Tekle affirmed that the current talks among Ethiopia, Egypt and Sudan on the Grand Ethiopian Renaissance Dam (GERD) are going well. 

Tekle previously served as Ethiopia's ambassador to Japan and assumed the post of the director general of the diplomatic academy at the Ethiopian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, as well as an assistant professor at the School of Diplomacy and International Relations at the Ethiopian Civil Service University.
