17:00 Dr. Hazem Khamis, the head of the tournament's medical committee, said during a news conference that each team will be allowed to register four additional players in their squad to make up for any absences in the event of any coronavirus infections. 

16:00 30 of the 32 teams are already confirmed with just the winners of the South and Central America Handball Confederation (SCAHC) Last Chance Qualification Tournament and North America and The Caribbean Handball Confederation (NCAHC) Men’s Championship to be decided.

Pot 1: Denmark, Spain, Croatia, Norway, Slovenia, Germany, Portugal, Sweden.
Pot 2: Egypt, Argentina, Austria, Hungary, Tunisia, Algeria, Qatar, Belarus.
Pot 3: Iceland, Brazil, Uruguay, Czech Republic, France, Republic of Korea, Japan, Bahrain.
Pot 4: Angola, Cape Verde, Morocco, SCAHC 4, DR Congo, Poland, NACHC 1, Russia

15:00 The Supreme Medical Committee headed by Dr. Hazem Khamis will hold a press conference at 16:00 three hours before the start of the draw ceremony to announce the preventive measures that will be followed during the tournament.
 

14:00 The competition will see a new format after being expanded to 32 teams for the first time. The participants will be split in eight group of four teams each. The top three teams from each group will advance to the main round while the bottom team in each group will play in the President's Cup. The 24 main round teams are divided into four groups of six teams each. The top-two teams from each group will advance to the quarterfinals ahead of the semi-final and the final.

13:00 The tournament will be held in Egypt from 13 to 31 January 2021 at four venues: The Cairo Stadium Indoor Hall, The New Administrative Capital Hall, The 6th of October Hall and The Borg El Arab Hall.

Minister of youth and sports Ashraf Sobhi revealed during a press conference on Tuesday that 88 per cent of the construction and renovation works have been completed and that the total cost will reach 3.2 billion Egyptian pounds.

12:00 The draw event will be held at the spectacular site of Giza Pyramids plateau and in front of the Sphinx. The ceremony will run from 7pm to 9pm Cairo time (GMT+2) and the draw will be presented by Egyptian actors Ingy El-Mokadam and Khaled El Nabawy.
