Foreign Minister Sameh Shoukry
Egypt’s Foreign Minister Sameh Shoukry discussed on Sunday several regional and international issues, particularly the crisis in Libya, with his US counterpart Mike Pompeo in a telephone call, the Egyptian foreign ministry said in a statement.
According to the Egyptian foreign ministry, Pompeo and Shoukry discussed the efforts to solidify the current ceasefire in Libya.
The two officials also discussed the latest developments concerning the Palestinian issue and the peace process in the Middle East.
They also discussed Egyptian-US strategic relations, and agreed on the necessity to continue coordination and consultation concerning issues of common interest in the coming period.
