Egypt will assume the chairmanship of the African Union’s (AU) Peace and Security Council in charge of enforcing union decisions in October, the country’s permanent representative to the AU said.
Ambassador Osama Abdel-Khalek said Egypt’s task will start on 1 October for a month, adding that it would be a new stage for Egypt’s leading role in the continent.
