Palestine calls on int'l community to stop Israeli settlement activity in West Bank

Israeli decision to build settlement units in the occupied West Bank violates all international legitimacy resolutions, that considered all Israeli settlements on the lands of Palestine state illegal.

The Palestinian presidency on Wednesday condemned the new Israeli decision to build thousands of settlement units in the occupied West Bank.

It called on the international community to pressure Israel to stop its settlement activity in the Palestinian territories.

"The Israeli decision violates all international legitimacy resolutions, including the Resolution 2334 that considered all Israeli settlements on the lands of Palestine state illegal," Nabil Abu Rudeineh, spokesperson of the Palestinian president, said in a press statement.

He said that the area "will not be enjoying stability without stopping the Israeli violations against the Palestinians."

Earlier in the day, Israeli media reported that the Israeli Supreme Council of Planning in the civil administration approved constructing about 2,166 units in dozens of settlements in the West Bank.
