44 killed in Qaeda clashes: Yemen army

orty-four people, including 14 soldiers, were killed in clashes with Al-Qaeda militants who attacked an army barracks in Yemen's restive south on Monday, a military official told AFP.

"Forty-four people, including 14 soldiers among them an officer, were killed" in the clashes between the army -- backed by tribesmen -- and Al-Qaeda, in the town of Loder, Abyan province, the source said.
