Zamalek fullback Hazem Emam has signed a two-year contract extension to keep him at the club through to 2022, the Cairo giants announced on Wednesday.
Emam, whose contract was due to expire at the end of this season, will now be eligible to feature against Morocco's Raja in the second leg of the African Champions League semis, which will be held in Cairo on Sunday.
With the local season in Egypt scheduled to end on Saturday, Zamalek had to extend the deal of the diminutive right-back so he can be available for the remainder of their African campaign.
The 32-year old defender, who came through the club's youth ranks, has been a key Zamalek player since making his first-team debut in 2008.
He missed Zamalek's precious 1-0 victory away to Raja earlier this month due to injury, but should be fit to play in the second leg.
