Zamalek's Moroccan winger Achraf Bencharki said on Sunday he is ready for his side's upcoming clash in the African Champions League final on Friday, rebuffing reports saying he had contracted COVID-19.

"All reports concerning my infection of COVID-19 are rumors," Bencharki said on his Instagram official account.

"I am ready for the final and I will do my best to help Zamalek win the title."

Bencharki is scheduled to arrive in Cairo on Sunday after finishing his international duty with Morocco in the Nations Cup qualifiers.

The 26-year-old has been one of Zamalek's standout performers since joining in the summer of 2019. He scored 12 goals in 34 games, including some decisive strikes in the Champions League.

Zamalek are bidding for their sixth champions League title while Ahly are looking for a record-extending ninth trophy and the first since 2013.
