The Egyptian and Russian navies wrapped up on Thursday the joint naval drill Bridge of Friendship 3 in the Russian territorial waters of the Black Sea, the Egyptian armed forces announced.
A number of naval units, frigates, rocket launchers, auxiliary supply ships and divisions of the special navy forces from both sides took part in the drill.
The exercise showed the efficiency and competent skills of the participating forces in planning, managing and controlling naval units and tackling various forms of threats.
The training included the implementation of several marine activities, such as different formations, defence against atypical air and land threats, securing a vital target in the sea, providing assistance to a ship, and a search and rescue exercise.
The drills also included training on imposing maritime control over a specific area, securing ships, as well as training on detecting marine mines while exiting a port.
The Egyptian and Russian naval special forces practised exercises that show the extent of accuracy and good planning in managing the training and the ability to successfully solve all emergency situations through the joint command centre.
The activities were concluded with a number of analytical discussion sessions of the lessons learned.
The first Bridge of Friendship naval drill between Egypt and Russia was conducted in 2015.
