Egypt's Sisi praises cooperation level between Egypt and Greece

The trilateral cooperation between Egypt, Greece, and Cyprus came from the balanced visions and stances shared by the three countries that are based on respect, good neighbourliness, and mutual interest, El-Sisi said

Egypt’s President Abdel-Fattah El-Sisi praised on Thursday the current level of cooperation reached between Egypt and Greece in his meeting with Greek Defense Minister Nikolaos Panagiotopoulos in Cairo, the Egyptian presidency said.

According to a statement by the presidency, El-Sisi also hailed the current level of cooperation at the trilateral level between Egypt, Greece, and Cyprus, which is evident in the ongoing Medusa 10 training exercise which is being carried out with the participation of French and UAE armed forces.

The president and Panagiotopoulos also agreed to promote joint military exercise programs between Egypt and Greece, in addition to tripartite ones with Cyprus. 

Egyptian Minister of Defense and Military Production Mohamed Zaki, and the Greek ambassador in Cairo also attended the meeting.

During the meeting, El-Sisi said trilateral cooperation between Egypt, Greece, and Cyprus came from the balanced visions and stances shared by the three countries that are based on respect, good neighbourliness, and mutual interest in maintaining security and stability in the eastern Mediterranean region.

According to the Egyptian presidency, the meeting witnessed a discussion about means to boost bilateral military cooperation while exchanging views on the latest regional and international developments, particularly with regard to combating terrorism.

The Greek defense minister also expressed Greece’s keenness on fostering the ongoing partnership with Egypt at the military and security levels.
