EgyptAir is going to announce the next steps regarding booked flight reservations to Saudi Arabia on Monday after Saudi authorities’ decision to suspend international flights to the kingdom due to concerns over the spread of the coronavirus on Sunday, EgyptAir’s customer service told Ahram Online.

The Egyptian national air carrier urged customers with bookings to and from Saudi Arabia’s Jeddah, Medina, Riyadh, Dammam, and Qassim to visit its official website, egyptair.com, or to call its hotline, 1717, for updates on the sitiuation.

“According to the instructions issued by the Saudi General Authority of Civil Aviation, all international flights services to and from Saudi Arabia will remain suspended for one week — subject to extension — starting from today, Monday 21 December 2020,” said EgyptAir in a short statement.

Saudi authorities decided to suspend entry to the kingdom through air, land, and sea travel temporarily for one week to halt the spread of the coronavirus.

The government of Oman also announced that it has closed its air, land, and sea ports for a week to monitor the latest impact of the new coronavirus strain discovered in the UK.
