Egypt’s President Abdel-Fattah El-Sisi announced on Sunday the launch of the second stage of the Decent Life Initiative to provide better living conditions for the neediest rural villages in Egypt.

In a post on his official accounts on Facebook and Twitter, the Egyptian president stated that this stage of the initiative is targeting 50 districts, with a total of 1381 villages, where 18 million Egyptians live across the country.

“I will follow the steps of implementing this initiative myself,” said El-Sisi, wishing luck to the officials working on it.

El-Sisi’s post came after his meeting with Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly, Minister of Housing Essam El-Gazzar, and Presidential Adviser for Urban Planning Amir Ahmed to discuss the latest developments concerning the projects of the housing ministry, especially new cities and developing the Egyptian countryside nationwide.

EGP 500 billion has been allocated for this stage.
