Ahly's in-form keeper Mohamed El-Shennawi said on Sunday his side are focusing on their clash against Qatar's Al Duhail in their opening Club World Cup game rather than a potential meeting against Bayern Munich in the semis
The African champions kick off their campaign against hosts Al Duhail on Thursday, with the winners taking on European champions Bayern in a mouthwatering last-four clash.
"There is no room for any talks about a Bayern Munich clash now," Mohamed El-Shennawi told Ahly's official website.
''We are focusing now on Al Duhail game, which we must win to advance. All the players are aware of this fact. We are determined to get a positive result against Al Duhail."
Ahly made five previous appearances at the Club World Cup, the last of which was in 2013. Their best result was a third-place finish at the 2006 edition in Japan but, otherwise, their participations were disappointing.
