Bayern Munich coach Hansi Flick announced on Sunday that his team came to Qatar to win the FIFA Club World Cup title, confirming they will double their efforts ahead of the game against Egypt’s Ahly in the semi-final.

Egypt’s Ahly, who defeated hosts Al-Duhail of Qatar 1-0 on Thursday, are scheduled to face Bayern Munich in the semi-finals of the FIFA Club World Cup on Monday in the Qatari capital.

“We had to win the UEFA Champions League to get here. We have a match every three days, so we’re just taking it one step at a time in training. From today we will be working on intense preparations for the game against Ahly,” Flick told a press conference on Sunday.

“Our aim is to win this competition. We know that it’s considered as something of a burden, but we are motivated, and we want to cap off an outstanding year with a sixth title!” the Bayern Munich coach added.

UEFA Champions League title holders Bayern Munich claimed big results against topflight teams in Europe, as they smashed Barcelona 8-2 in the quarterfinals of the UEFA Champions League after beating Tottenham 7-2 in the group stage of the continental tournament.

“We have our own tactics that helped us to achieve more victories,” Flick said.

“Our main target is to pass the coming game against Ahly, but we have to concentrate more on our opponents,”

“Ahly is a big team and they want to put on a spirited display, as they always change their tactics in the frontline, making use of their two wingers,”

“Ahly have a very brilliant coach, I just met him for a short while, and he is working to develop his team, so I like his way of thinking,” Flick added.
