Bayern Munich defensive midfielder Joshua Kimmich has expressed his pleasure in arriving in Qatar to take part in the FIFA Club World Cup, confirming Ahly is a big team but the German side is favored to claim the victory.
Bayern Munich is scheduled to face Egypt’s Ahly in the semi-final of the FIFA Club World Cup on Monday.
“I am happy that we are participating in the FIFA Club World Cup along with having a chance to win the tournament’s title,” Kimmich told a press conference on Sunday.
“We will start our mission in the semifinals of the World Cup against Ahly and we are confident that we are the favored team to win the game,”
“We know that Ahly is a tough opponent, they are the Bayern Munich of Egypt as they have played a great number of games without defeat, but the UEFA Champions League winners are the teams most likely to claim the title,” the Bayern Munich star said.
Egypt’s Ahly booked their place in the FIFA Club World Cup after beating Qatari hosts Al-Duhail 1-0 on Thursday, while Bayern Munich will begin their mission in the tournament from the semifinals.
