Art Alert: Nubian rhythms, reggae, R&B, with Black Theama at Cairo's Zamalek Theatre

Founded in 2004, Black Theama is a three-member strong band that mixes African musical influences with Nubian rhythms, reggae, hip-hop, and R&B.

The band's line-up includes Ahmed Bahr, Mohamed Abdo, and Amir Salah El-Deen

Since its launch, the band has released a total of over 50 songs, and in 2013 they were nominated to several awards at the World Music Awards for Best Group, Best Live Act, Best Song, and Best Video Clip for the song Fi Belad Al-Ayy Haga.

Black Theama's latest single Bohoor Alwan (Seas of Colours), which features children with special abilities, was produced and performed at the Awladna International Forum of Arts for the Gifted, held in October 2020.
