Ahly's striker Salah Mohsen has been confirmed out of action for ten days after suffering from a muscle injury, the club announced on Sunday.
"Medical scans have showed that Salah Mohsen sustained a muscle strain and he will be out of action for ten days," Ahly doctor Ahmed Abou-Abla was quoted as saying on Ahly's official website.
The 22-year-old attacker, who returned to Ahly this winter after spending a one-year loan with Egyptian Premier League outfit Smouha, made eight appearances with the Red Devils so far this season.
"The player will start his medical and rehab program during the team's training sessions to be ready for the coming missions," Abou-Abla said.
The Cairo giants will return to trainings on Sunday after finishing their participation in the FIFA Club World Cup in Qatar and claiming the bronze medal at the prestigious tournament.
The record nine-time African champions, Ahly will start their mission in the continental tournament's group stage against Al-Merrikh of Sudan on Tuesday as they bid to make a return to the FIFA Club World Cup by winning their 10th Continental title.
