Real Madrid Assistant Coach Aitor Karanka has announced that the club's players and fans deserve the Spanish La Liga trophy.

Los Blancos claimed their 32nd La Liga title and their first in four years when they defeated Athletic Bilbao 3-0 Wednesday.

"It hasn't been at all easy. We worked very hard in the preseason and made great efforts throughout the year," Karanka told the post-game press conference.

"This is a spectacular group of players and I believe they deserve the title. We've taken another step forward this year with this success," he added.

"This is my first league championship in this new era at Real Madrid. It is completely different to winning as a player," Karanka said.

Real's goalkeeper Iker Casillas asks his teammates and the team's supporters to enjoy the victory as they suffered throughout the season to snatch the title.

"It wasn't easy. We started with a 6-0 victory in Zaragoza, but like all teams, we've had good and bad moments," Casillas told the press conference.

"Everything looked more complicated when we drew two consecutive games just over one month ago. I think we greatly deserved this title. We and all Madridismo should enjoy this," he added.

"We knew what we had to do and did it," the most capped player of all time for the Spanish national team concluded.

Striker Cristiano Ronaldo believes also that the La Liga title is a result of 10 months in the fight.

“I am incredibly happy. This is my first league title in Spain and I am delighted. We’ve achieved our objective and we were all very excited about winning La Liga,” Ronaldo said.

“We all experience great joy for achieving our objective after fighting for 10 months.”

“The league is even harder when you fight for it with a team like Barcelona, but you feel great when you beat one of the best teams around. We were better than them.”

The 27-year-old attacker is currently in the second place of La Liga scorers list with 44 goals, two behind Barcelona's star Messi.

“The league title is what I wanted most. I have two Golden Boot awards at home. It would be nice to win another, but I wouldn’t mind it if I didn’t.”
