UAE-based Egyptian artist Samar Kamel is taking part in the seventh edition of the World Art Fair in Dubai, which is scheduled to take place from 7 to 10 April at the World Trade Centre.

Besides Kamel holding an exhibition featuring her latest paintings, the artist is also involved in the curation segment of the fair. She has been involved in the World Art Fair for four consecutive years.

Many of Kamel's work sheds light on modern women while challenging the stereotypes placed on them by society. In her work, she uses a variety of media (oil, acrylic, nail polish, tea bags, ink transfer) and traditional techniques as brush work, impasto, cross hatching, and collage.

Kamel held over 50 international art exhibitions and participated in numerous art fairs across the globe.

The artist's bio released by Saatchi Art reveals that "she has organised charity auctions to raise funds for the art community and marginalised members of the society. Kamel has also served as a mentor and panellist for amateur artists and art competitions in Dubai."

"Her contributions to art and community have been recognised by her recent nomination for the Emirates Woman of the Year 2018 prize in the category of Art and Culture."

Kamel's permanent collection is presented at the Bursa Museum of Immigration History in Turkey.

Taking place between 7 and 10 April, Dubai's seventh World Art Fair brings regional and global artists and galleries together with Dubai’s international community. As the fair presents itself, its aim is to create a unique fusion of art, education and entertainment.
