Sisi discusses latest coronavirus developments in Egypt with ministries

The president gave his directives to allocate any additional financial sources needed to import the needed vaccines while at the same time cooperating with foreign parties to produce the vaccines locally

Egypt’s President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi discussed on Sunday the latest developments of the coronavirus locally and internationally in a meeting with Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly and a group of ministers and officials, the Egyptian presidency stated.

According to the Egyptian presidency, El-Sisi discussed the latest measures taken by the Egyptian government to curb the spread of the coronavirus in the country, taking into consideration the experience the Egyptian healthcare system gained from the first and second coronavirus waves.

The situation of the coronavirus vaccines and the current public vaccination campaign updates were also discussed.

The statement added that that the president gave his directives to continue the awareness programs for all citizens concerning preventive measures against the coronavirus.

Minister of Health Hala Zayed, Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research Khaled Abdel-Ghafer, the President’s Adviser for Health Mohamed Awad Tag El-Din, Head of the Egyptian Authority for Unified Procurement Bahaa El-Din Zidan, and Head of the Medical services Directorate in the Egyptian armed forces Magdy Ibrahim attended the meeting.
