US Secretary of State Antony Blinken on Sunday valued Egypt's efforts and contacts with the conflict's parties to stop the hostilities amid Israeli-Palestinian tensions, as he made a phone call with his Egyptian counterpart, Sameh Shoukry.

Shoukry and Blinken discussed developments of the critical situation in the Palestinian lands, which has killed hundreds of Palestinian civilians, including children as well as Israelis.

The two top diplomats agreed on the importance of implementing peace and stability in the region within the framework of the coordination between the two countries.

“Spoke today with Egyptian Foreign Minister Shoukry to discuss the ongoing violence in Israel, West Bank, and Gaza. All parties need to deescalate tensions – the violence must end immediately,” Blinken wrote on Twitter.

Shoukry and Blinken also highlighted the importance of the strong strategic partnership between the two countries, US Department of State spokesperson Ned Price said.
