Egypt's Ahly are the favourites to win Friday's African Super Cup clash, according to RS Berkane coach Pedro Benali who also insisted the Moroccan team will fight to win the title.

Champions League winners Ahly meet Confederation Cup champions RS Berkane at the Jassim Bin Hamad Stadium in Qatari capital Doha.

"It will be a strong and difficult game for both teams as it will depend on small details like all finals … it's as competitive as any derby," RS Berkane's Spanish coach Pedro Benali told Qatari newspaper Al Sharq on Tuesday.

"On paper, Ahly are favourites to beat my team and win the title, but on the field matters will be totally different. We will work hard to produce a fine show that honors both our club and Moroccan football.

"It is a special game for us as we will be facing a big team, but we won't be afraid and we will play strongly with a big confidence to win."

Ahly, who have a record of six Super Cup wins, claimed the Champions League after defeating arch-rivals Zamalek 2-1 in a remarkable final in November last year, while RS Berkane won the Confederation Cup at the expense of Egyptian team Pyramids FC.

Despite a gulf in class between both sides, Benali said Berkane won't be easy prey.

"We won't be an easy opponent for Ahly. I studied their team well. They play collective football and the team includes many outstanding players like goalkeeper Mohamed El-Shenawi and left-back Ali Maaloul; that's why we should be at our best to win and exploit their weak points," he concluded.
