Egyptian President Abdel-Fattah El-Sisi and leading German shipbuilder Lürssen discussed on Monday efforts by the state to localise marine industries during a meeting in Cairo.
According to a statement by the presidency, El-Sisi received Luerssen CEO Peter Lürssen in a meeting attended by the Egyptian navy commander Lieutenant General Ahmed Khaled and other officials from the navy.
The meeting saw a briefing on Egypt’s efforts to upgrade shipyard arsenals and the training of human resources operating in the field.
They also discussed developing infrastructure of the equipment needed in the vital industry to allow it to keep pace with the latest global technologies.
