Zamalek’s Tunisian midfielder Ferjani Sassi announced on Thursday that he will announce everything related to his future with the Egyptian club after next week's international break.
The 29-year-old midfielder is currently on international duty with the Carthage Eagles who are scheduled to play three friendlies against DR Congo, Algeria and Mali.
Zamalek have been involved in months-long negotiations with Sassi's agent over a new deal but to no avail leaving the door open for his departure this summer after the end of his current contract.
“My future with Zamalek? I will explain everything after the international break,” Sassi told reporters while taking part in Tunisia national team camp.
“Everything is clear and I know well that the Tunisian football fans hear a lot of rumors related to my future because I don’t speak to media,” the Tunisian star added.
“After the international break I will announce the truth about my future with Zamalek,”
Zamalek's midfield maestro was earning a reported fee of $2 million per season during the incumbent deal and was hoping for a raise, seeing that he is shortlisted by several clubs in the region.
The Tunisian star, Sassi, who claimed five trophies with Zamalek, led his team to be in the top of the Egyptian Premier League teams’ table with 55 points after playing 25 games so far this season.
