Egypt reports 782 new coronavirus cases, 47 deaths on Monday

The downward trend in daily new cases continues for the seventh day in a row

Egypt reported 782 new coronavirus cases on Monday, bringing the total infection tally to 268,754 since the outbreak began in February 2020.

Over the past week, less than 1000 people have been infected with coronavirus every day. The decline comes almost two months after a spike in daily positive cases caused by the pandemic's third wave.

The health ministry also reported 47 new deaths, bringing the total number of deaths from the virus to 15,399.

A total of 677 have been discharged after recovering from the virus, bringing the total number of recoveries to 197,281.
