Ahly's experienced winger Walid Soliman has been ruled out of the African Champions League final against Kaizer Chiefs after tearing a hamstring muscle, the club said on Tuesday.

Soliman will be sidelined for up to four weeks after suffering the injury during a training session, Ahly's doctor Ahmed Abou-Abla said on the club's official website.

The 36-year-old is still blighted by bad luck, having also missed some key events over the past year including Ahly's Club World Cup campaign in Qatar, where they finished third, and last season's Egypt Cup final against Talae El-Geish.

Although he is way past his prime, Soliman remains a valuable option on the bench, with his trickery and goal-scoring prowess usually coming in handy for the Red Devils.

He has made 16 appearances in all competitions so far this season, scoring five goals and providing an assist.

Ahly meet South Africa's Kaizer Chiefs in the Champions League final on 17 July in Casablanca.

Kaizer Chiefs will make their first ever appearance in the final while Ahly eye a record-extending 10th Champions League crown and the second on the trot.
