-- Shooter Osama El Saied scored 618.8 points to finish 42nd among 47 contestants in the qualification of the 10m Air Rifle event. Youssef Helmy Makkar scored 612.0 points to finish 45th in the same event.

-- Tennis player Mohamed Safwat lost against Daniel Galan of Colombia 2-0 (7-5, 6-1) in the first round of the men’s singles.

-- 18-year-old fencer Mohamed El Sayed beat Yannick Borel, who won the gold with France team at Rio 2016, 15-11 in Round of 32 of the Epee event. El Sayed will face Minghao Lan in Round of 16 at 8:00 Cairo time (GMT+2)

-- Sailor Kholoud Mansy finished the first Race 36th out of 44 contestants with 50:05m, + 3.13m behind Spanish leader Cristina Pujol who timed 46:52m. Mansy has nine more races.

-- Rower Abdel-Khalek El Banna finished fifth of his quarterfinal and fails to progress to the semifinals A/B after timing 7:32.86m. The top 3 of each heat progress to the senis A/B. He will now compete in semifinals C/D on Tuesday. 

-- Badminton player Doha Hany lost 2-0 (21-5, 21-3) against Yu Fei Chen of China in a groupstage match.

-- Fencer Noha Hany lost 15-6 against Qingyan Chen of China in Round of 32 in the women’s foil event.

-- Fencer Nora Mohamed lost 15-5 against Yuka Ueno of Japan in Round of 32 in the women’s foil event. 

-- Taekwondo fighter Abdel Rahman Wael Mahmoud defeated Javier Perez of Spain 22-20 in the Round of 16 of the -68kg event. He will face Nedzad Husic in the quarter finals at 7:25 Cairo time (GMT+2).

-- Judoka Mohamed Abdel Mawgoud lost by Ippon against Daniel Cargnin of Brazil in Round of 32 of the -66kg event. 

-- Fencer Yara El Sharkawy lost 15-2 to Arianna Errigo of Italy in Round of 32 of the Women's individual foil. 

-- Shooter Radwa Abdel Latif finished 40th out of 53 contestants in the women’s 10m Air pistol after scoring 560 points over her 60 shots. Hala Elgohari finished 41st after scoring also 560 points. They both failed to progress as only the top eight qualify to the final.
