Taekwondo player Hedaya Malak has admitted that the competition in the -67kg category was very tough in comparison with the -57kg, adding that she is delighted after winning two Olympics medals in two different categories.
The 28-year-old won the bronze medal in Rio de Janeiro in the -57kg women category.
She faced a new challenge this term, having moved up to -67kg after seven years of playing in the -57kg category.
Malak added another medal to her account after winning the bronze in the -67kg on Monday after defeating Paige Mcpherson of the US 17-6 in the bronze medal game.
"The competition in the -67kg category was very tough," Malak told BeIn Sports on Monday.
"I am very happy to win another medal in a different category."
The Egyptian star explained her loss in the competition's quarters by her fatigue against a tough opponent.
Malak lost 12-13 to Lauren Williams of Great Britain in the Women's quarter finals, with the latter winning the silver medal.
"During the quarters I was exhausted and the British player was more prepared.
"I tried to do my best but it was very difficult against a tough opponent," she concluded.
