The Pharaohs captured their first World Handball Championship 2011 win after beating Tunisia 27-23 on Monday.

The Egyptians made an awful start of the game and were down by four goals 7-3 in the opening 12 minutes but then the match turned. Star man Ahmed El-Ahmar led his teammates to a great come back to end the first half on top 11-10.

After the break Egypt scored five straight goals to widen the score 16:10. The Tunisians couldn’t  come back anymore, as they missed too many chances and made too many technical fouls.

El-Ahmar was named Man of the Match after scoring 10 goals in the game.

With only  one win in three games, Egypt - fourth of the Group A– are in a must-win situation when they meet Spain on Wednesday to reach the second round.
