La Casa furniture and interior design expo ends 21 May, and here's a look at some of the best exhibitions at the convention centre

La Casa's furniture and interior design expo started on 17 May and ends on 21 May. Entrance to the exhibition is LE100, which includes a large catalog and a card for a five per cent discount on any purchase. For anyone interested in mass purchases or a particular purchase for their home, this is a great place to see all the major vendors at once - just in time for a summer patio re-decoratin.

Also, attending are vendors and importers of saunas, health equipment, water filter systems, massage chairs, interior decorators, etc.

The best of the furniture displays were:

Unique

Patio Designs really hit the mark for “different.” This clean, white look, mixed with the look of rough, aged wood is definitely unique in these parts. Only up in wood country will you find anything even resembling this look.

The only disappointing thing about the amazingly pleasant look of their designs, especially as they created an entire theme and ambiance at the expo, is that the rough, aged “wood” is actually acrylic. Anyone whose been in touch with nature, or simply is yearning for the peace that only nature can give would love to have this ambiance.

Fun

J. Wardani Design was the strongest of the three expositions that make the “fun, fun, fun” list. They took each piece and with sophisticated taste, and made it fun. For instance, one piece has five legs, two of which are different shape than the other three. Multi-coloured stripes and geometric flowers patch up a safe, olive-green background.

One of the runners up is called J. Craft Interior Design, where their front-and-centre pieces were two high-backed purple faux suede chairs. The backs were as tall as a human being, a far excess in height, actually, but it instantly gave the sense that the Mad Hatter from Alice in Wonderland is right around the corner, late for a tea party that you most definitely want to attend.

To the “fun” in Kashmir’s collection you can add the word “exotic.” Besides the things made in Egypt, some of their furniture and accessories come from Malaysia and India.

Overall

There were many exhibitors who fulfilled the empress, luxurious style.

The big exhibition were well-known names. Once you really enter the exhibition hall, Divano is the first big kiosk. Of course, they have everything for every room in every style. Cannot go wrong there.

Similarly, High Point had a huge display.

Istikbal, the Turkish furniture giant, had much to offer, with their signature modern, happy style.

A big winner, however, above all of them, is Solari, another Turkish brand.

Their sets even had the price written in large letters, in full view so there's no questions, bargaining or doubts. Their staff is friendly and very helpful, though, so feel free to ask.

With just as much variety as the other big players, Solari also, unbelievably, real bamboo - the only authentic product from China! Although the plastic version is almost as pleasant to look at, there's something about the tranquilizing vibe that real wood gives off that cannot be matched with plastic.

Made in Egypt

Bamboo Lila (bamboo furniture, made in Egypt)

SC (Sofa Company: throws, towels, etc. Egyptian cotton)
Note: They are offering things at 50% discounts

The Palace (small display near the end, with a good variety of furniture)
