Olympiacos striker Ahmed ‘Kouka’ Hassan has joined on Monday the Egyptian national team trainings in preparations for World Cup qualifiers against Angola and Gabon.

The Pharaohs will host Angola in Cairo on Wednesday, then they will travel to face Gabon away on Sunday in Group F, which also includes North African neighbours Libya.

Kouka is the second foreign-based player to join the Egyptian camp, which started on Saturday, after Ittihad of Jeddah’s defender Ahmed Hegazi.

Galatasaray striker Mostafa Mohamed is expected to join the camp in the next few hours as well.

Meanwhile, Liverpool’s Mohamed Salah and Arsenal’s Mohamed Elneny are out of Egypt’s plans for the Angola game due to COVID-19 restrictions in the United Kingdom.

Coach Hossam El-Badry confirmed on Sunday that the Egyptian FA is still in talks with the English FA to get the duo for Gabon game.

El-Badry has included 27 players for these two games.
