Sudan summons Ethiopian ambassador over Setit River floating bodies

Sudanese authorities have taken all necessary legal measures and notified the Ethiopian ambassador that the bodies, found during the period between July 26 and Aug. 8, belong to Ethiopian citizens from Tigray region

The Foreign Ministry announced Wednesday that the Ethiopian ambassador in Khartoum was summoned on Aug. 30 in the wake of finding 29 bodies floating down Setit River separating Ethiopia's Tigray region from Sudan.

Sudanese authorities have taken all necessary legal measures and notified the Ethiopian ambassador that the bodies, found during the period between July 26 and Aug. 8, belong to Ethiopian citizens from Tigray region.

The Foreign Ministry asked the Ethiopian ambassador to report the incident to Ethiopian officials.
