Egypt reports 680 new coronavirus cases, 38 deaths on Sunday
Egypt reported 680 new coronavirus cases on Sunday, bringing the total infection tally officially to 301,625 since the outbreak began in February 2020, said the Health Ministry in its daily coronavirus update statement.

The health ministry also reported 38 new deaths that have raised the tally of deaths from the virus to 17,187.
As many as 411 patients have been discharged after recovering from the virus, the statement added, raising the total number of recoveries to 254,471.
Earlier on the day, Egypt’s Medical Syndicate announced that the total number of fatalities among doctors due to the coronavirus has reach 600 since March 2021.
Egypt is currently witnessing the fourth wave of coronavirus with officials warning its peak will be reached in three to four weeks.
In parallel, the government is intensifying efforts to vaccinate citizens against Covid-19 virus to achieve its target of 40 million immunised Egyptians by the end of 2021.
